Wikipedia offers two basic definitions of “Headhunter.” The first says, “…the practice of literally taking a person’s head after killing them.” The second says “…an informal name for an employment recruiter, sometimes referred to as executive search.”
The Frankfurt AGBC has invited the successful Headhunter, Friedrich-Wilhelm Graf von Pfeil, to speak before its membership about the second definition. Mr. von Pfeil will leverage his twenty years of experience in executive recruiting to demystify executive recruiting, and explain the differences between the two professions thereby helping the audience understand how significant executive search is as an industry, and how impactful it is on hiring and job searches across the globe.
Mr. von Pfeil holds an MBA from Göttingen University in Banking, Economics, Finance and Organizational Management. He began his professional career at JPMorgan in New York City, and moved quickly to Düsseldorf and Frankfurt to take the role of Corporate Account Manager. He joined Banque Paribas (now BNP-Paribas) as a Managing Director in London.
In 1999 he joined Heidrick & Struggles and in 2004 joined Korn Ferry where he worked until 2016. His executive search experience covers a broad range in financial services in Private and Retail Banking, Asset Management, Private Equity, Principal and Structured Finance, Equity and Fixed Income positions, general Corporate Finance and M&A as well as Advisory and Supervisory Board position for Financial Institution and Industrial Corporations. Mr. von Pfeil is now an Independent Advisor focusing on Executive Search and Career Coaching.
